At the company’s headquarters in Dresden we develop and manufacture pyroelectric infrared detectors in a large variety and of highest quality. They are used for high-precision gas analysis, flame detection and spectroscopy. InfraTec has a subsidiary in North America and local partners in Japan, China, and South Korea.

Modular Construction System of 50 Standard Types

The modular construction system of InfraTec’s pyroelectric detectors consists of approximately 50 standard types and therefore offers optimized solutions for a variety of applications in the field of sensor technology. The product range includes analogue single and multi-channel detectors as well as digital multi-channel detectors (PyrIQ®). The detectors are used, for example, in gas analysis, fire and flame sensors and spectroscopy.

From the very beginning, these are based on high-quality, single-crystal lithium tantalate (LiTaO3). Introducing DLaTGS as a pyroelectric material last year, InfraTec developed the new PYRONEER® series, which also includes spectrometer detectors based on LiTaO3. These well-proven detectors with precious metal black layers have now been redesigned.

In spectroscopes, very special pyroelectric detectors by InfraTec are used. Essential for this application are the uniform absorption characteristics over a wide wavelength range. This is made possible by a special absorption layer on the pyroelectric chip.
