Thermal Image of the Moon at Winter Solstice
2017-01-13| Thermography

Rare moment

As the word winter solstice already reveals, on that day the sun usually attracts interest. We have thrown a closer look at their opponent on 21st December and think that the moon has its radiant moments, too

– even more by looking through the super-telephoto lens of a high-end thermography camera. The (serious) thermographer, of course, immediately has questions in mind like spectral range, inherent radiation of the moon, solar reflection and atmospheric transmission, because he thinks of temperature measurement on the moon’s surface. That is exactly what he has in common with us. Therefore, you can be curios how we approach this – admitted somewhat distant – measurement object to demonstrate the capability of measurement technology offered by InfraTec in the near future.
