How can artificial intelligence help to detect potential fires faster, more safely, and more reliably before they even start? InfraTec is launching into 2026 at the TECH TALENT PROGRAM by MotionLab.Berlin with the application-focused project “AI-Enhanced Fire Detection System” designed for aspiring scientists.
Mastering Practical Challenges
The TECH TALENT PROGRAM is a practical innovation program for bachelor's and master's students. Over a period of twelve weeks, participants combine theoretical knowledge with real-world industry projects, work in interdisciplinary teams on specific tech challenges, and develop functional prototypes. They are supported by experienced mentors, coaches, and industry partners.
As part of the InfraTec Tech challenge, students from computer science, data science, AI/machine learning, electrical engineering, physics, and related disciplines work closely with experts and mentors to find solutions to a practical challenge. By implementing their ideas on a demonstration facility, participants gain exclusive insights into modern infrared measurement technology, industrial AI applications, and real-world development processes.

The InfraTec Tech Challenge
InfraTec, a leading specialist in infrared technology and thermal imaging solutions based in Dresden, is contributing its more than 30 years of expertise to the development of an AI-supported early fire detection system. The aim of the challenge is to use machine learning to improve the reliability of the analysis of thermographic and visual images for early fire detection and to avoid false alarms.
Registration for the Tech Talent Program
“If you want to experience AI and machine vision not only in lectures but also in real-world applications, this challenge is the perfect oppotunity. Together, we will show how state-of-the-art technology and intelligent algorithms are shaping the future of early fire detection,” says Fabian Göttfert, Head of Development at InfraTec.
Registration for the challenge is open until February 8 via this link: https://airtable.com/appsn4sLAal33PaS8/paguscM8GesykMlWz/form
The Tech Challenge is one of a total of five corporate challenges in TECH TALENT PROGRAM Batch 8, which starts in early 2026 and brings young talent together with leading industry partners.
